Ye’s account was suspended for inciting violence, not for uploading the image of Musk, Musk later explained.

Former President Donald Trump was suspended from Twitter due to his tweets that appeared to inspire the crowd that stormed the U.S. Capitol in January 2021, in violation of Twitter’s policy against inciting violence.

Ye has been suspended after a wave of previously suspended accounts have been unbanned, including those of Donald Trump, Kathy Griffin, Jordan Peterson, Babylon Bee, and Ye himself, who was previously suspended for tweeting antisemitic remarks.
Musk originally said no account reinstatements will happen before a “content moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints” is formed, but then went ahead and reinstated Trump’s account following a Twitter poll.
