Dr. Michael Obeng, a Harvard-trained Ghanaian American plastic surgeon, will be honored as the ‘International Man of the Year’ at this year’s Hollywood & African Prestigious Awards (HAPAwards).

According to HAPAwards organizers, the renowned plastic surgeon is being nominated for the ‘International Man of the Year’ award for the 2021 HAPAwards in recognition of his excellent and extraordinary achievements in his field of work and contributions to mankind.
“The HAPAwards are intended to bridge the cultural divide between Africa and the rest of the world while also giving back to the I Dream 4 All Foundation through the arts.” The ‘Awards’ stimulate creativity, highlight rich African history, showcase unique skills, and honor exceptional personalities in the cinema, music, comedy, fashion, and social media industries.”
Dr. Obeng is one of the world’s most sought-after surgeons. He has conducted makeovers for the Hollywood elite, supermodels, musicians, and royalty throughout the course of his two-decade career as the director of MiKO Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills, and more importantly, he has put smiles on the faces of some of the world’s most needy people.
He specializes in aging face, breast, and body cosmetic surgery, as well as Brazilian butt lifts, rib removal, and forehead reduction, to name a few. His specialty has always been intricate reconstruction and surgeries that other surgeons consider impossible, earning him the moniker “The Surgeon’s Surgeon.”

The Amanfoo Goodness & Excellence Award (2021), Ebony Magazine 75th Edition Power 100 Honoree (2020), GUBA Humanitarian Spirit Award (2017), NAACP Humanitarian Award (2013), and the list goes on.
In addition, the City of Beverly Hills and the County of Los Angeles have praised him for his “dedication to enhancing and bettering the lives of people all over the world through his medical knowledge.” “None of these honors would have been possible without the selfless volunteers who have helped us throughout the years and the patients who have trusted us with their lives, not to mention the Almighty God,” adds Dr. Obeng.
Patients in underdeveloped nations can receive free reconstructive surgery through R.E.S.T.O.R.E. Since its establishment in 2017, the group has done over 1,500 free surgeries on three continents, totaling more than $75 million USD.
