Travelers who have not been vaccinated are no longer allowed to enter Ghana as of Monday.
You cannot travel to Ghana unless you have had a COVID-19 vaccination.
With effect from Monday, the government will implement arguably of the strongest Covid travel requirements in the world, prohibiting any adult who has not been vaccinated from flying in.
Self-isolation is not an option.
Citizens and residents of Ghana living abroad are exempt for up to two weeks, but must be vaccinated upon arrival at the airport.
Authorities are concerned about an increase in infections during the holiday season.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Ghana’s land and maritime borders have been blocked to passenger movement.
Alongside the new measures, Ghanaian authorities will also still insist that all arrivals present a negative PCR test
All Ghanaians flying out of the country will also need to be fully vaccinated.
This means that a Ghanaian national who is not currently vaccinated but gets a jab at the airport would have to wait until getting a second dose before they were able to fly out, unless they get one from Johnson and Johnson.
