After a warehouse under construction collapsed onto their building near the Oyoko roundabout in the New Juaben North Municipality today, two people are fighting for their lives at the Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua.
The unfinished structure collapsed at around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday during a four-hour rainstorm.
Jonathan Obeng, 68, was injured in the head, and his sleeping son was cut when the structure collapsed.
Two vehicles in the garage, as well as a number of other assets, were damaged.
The victim’s wife, Prophetess Elizabeth Ockran Obeng, said her husband and kid were responding to hospital care. “It was God who saved them.”
“They’ve arrived at the hospital and are undergoing treatment. The police, the MCE, and the MP were all present. “In the morning, NADMO, the fire department, and others arrived,” she added.
