The lack of food supplies to meet the needs of the student population has prompted school administrators to issue a warning that schools may have to close.
However, according to the Ministry, its inspections show that the questioned schools have received sufficient supplies.
The release emphasized that “the Ministry however acknowledges recent disruptions within the food supply chain, but assures parents and guardians that they have been addressed.”
“The Ministry however takes cognizance of recent disruptions within the food supply chain, but assures parents and guardians that they have been addressed”, the release stressed.
In a separate interview, the Head of Public Relations at the Education Ministry, Kwasi Kwarteng mentioned that, the National Food Buffer Stock Company Limited has supplied enough food to schools across the country.
“The public is kindly urged to ignore claims that there is a food shortage in our SHSs. The Ministry can attest that all of the nation’s schools received food distributions from our organization, Buffer Stock. Every school has enough food resources to at least last until the next delivery is made. Therefore, those media reports about a food crisis are false.
