To date, this is the only statement made by the Wizkid Live Event organizers on the star’s mysterious disappearance from the Accra Sports live concert, which was scheduled to include a one-hour set by Wizkid and many other acts.
High level of excitement mixed with eagerness and the prospect of partying hard with one of Africa’s greatest Afrobeat superstars virtually danced on the faces of hundreds of music aficionados who made their way to the Accra Sports stadium Saturday night, December 10 for the Wizkid Live in Accra event.

When headliner Wizkid failed to show up, the crowd’s excitement quickly turned to disappointment, grumbling, and cursing.
The terrible turn out of events was certainly a “double slap” for revelers who had had to wait for hours to attend the Nigerian music icon’s performance.
That, however, never materialized as members of the technical team began dismantling portions of the setup at about 4:00 a.m.
Earlier in the night, DJ Tunes had boosted the anticipation of fans when he continually whet their appetite suggesting Wizkid will ascend the stage some minutes into his performance.
That never occurred as an hour into his performance, the saxophonists who were part of his act began fleeing the stage.
Many spectators, having seen the placards, had already begun leaving the stadium, despite their being no official notification from the event’s organizers.
Accordingto source, they were candid about their dissatisfaction, with some even demanding a refund from the event’s organizers.
Gyakie, Kelvyn Boy, Yaw Tog, Efya, Asaka Boys, and Darko Vibes were among the artists scheduled to perform, however Wizkid was noticeably missing.
However, not all of the advertised acts showed up, including R2Bees and King Promise.
The event was expertly emceed by Yfm host Kojo Manuel, who brought the appropriate amount of enthusiasm and intensity to the proceedings.
Being with him was never boring.
Live Hub Entertainment, a division of Finali Entertainment Group, was responsible for putting up Wizkid Live.
Prices ranged from Ghc275 for regular admission to Ghc650 for VIP seating.
Tickets for the Golden Circle, which included tables, beverages, and small bites, were also available for Ghc3,200.
Wizkid and the concert’s organizers have not commented on the cancelled event beyond the brief statement offering refunds.
