Ghanaian dancehall superstar Livingstone Etse Satekla, also known as Stonebwoy, has offered his thoughts on the E-levy, which has sparked debate in Parliament.

Stonebwoy is opposed to the government’s 1.75 per cent E-levy on electronic transactions.
During his 2021 Bhim Concert, he presented his notion and hinted that the e-levy is about the government stealing Peter to pay Paul.
Even if he is not compensated, the singer says he would release a song denouncing the government’s bad policies.
“I saw them debating the other day in parliament over what is good for us and what is not good for us,” he says. They said E-level, but there was no toll. In my ghetto mind, I see them remove the toll and now raise the E-levy. They are stealing Peter in order to pay Paul.
“I will sing about these things and I don’t need to be paid. Music gives me the authority to speak about the right things,” he said.
