After staging a story that he was shot on October 18th, the dancehall performer has been charged with false news dissemination. Last Monday, Shatta Wale was remanded in the Ankaful Prison for seven days.
The ‘Kakai’ singer was granted GH100,000 bail on self-recognition in an Accra Circuit Court today.
This means Shatta Wale will not be required to post bail. Defendants who are released on their own recognizance are simply obliged to sign a written agreement to appear in court when summoned. There is no need to pay bail to the court or a bail bond company.
Shatta Wale’s other co-conspirators in the case, Nana Dope, his personal assistant, and two others, were also released on bail with sureties.
The case has been postponed, and the accused will return to court on November 9th. Shatta Wale and the others, on the other hand, are still being held in detention and will be released once the formalities are completed.
More information will be released soon, but in the meantime, see how Shatta Wale and the others were brought to justice in the video below.
