Sarkodie, the multi-award-winning rapper, has criticized the amount of money he spends on petrol every three days.
Fuel prices have climbed three times in three weeks, resulting in a three-week price hike. Many Ghanaians have complained about the price hike, which has influenced the cost of transportation tickets.
In an interview with Joy FM’s Showbiz one on one show, he said that, despite his celebrity, circumstances are tough for him as well.
“I wouldn’t be able to have my hands on everything because, thank God, we’ve gotten past a point when our difficulties may not be the same as the average person on the street,” he told George Quaye.
In particular, he said of the rising fuel prices, “if personally I may have a degree of hardship in certain areas, it’s not hardship (per se), but it was a major shock, fuel prices are outrageous.” To fuel my automobile, I am already approaching 2,000 cedis, which is significant.
“You need roughly 2,000 cedis to run about for three days,” he complained.
