A house fire has claimed the lives of two children in Buokrom Estate in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital.
Ama Blessing and a two-month-old infant boy are among the deceased. Three more people were seriously injured while receiving treatment at Kumasi’s Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
According to the Ghana National Fire Service, the fire started in one of the rooms at 2:00 a.m. on Friday, December 24, 2021, and spread to other rooms.
According to reports, firefighters arrived on the site in a timely manner and were able to prevent the fire from spreading to their valued assets. The flames destroyed a self-contained apartment that housed the two deceased, as well as three other dwellings.
DOIII Peter Osei Addai, the Ashanti Regional Incident Service’s Public Relations Officer, revealed that inquiries concerning the fire had begun.
