Newmont Ghana took up six medals at the 2021 HR Focus Awards, which honors excellence in human resource management.
Overall Best Organization in HR Practice was awarded to the gold mining industry’s leader. Best HR Practice in Energy and Natural Resources, Best Organization in Learning and Development Practice, Best Organization in Localization, Best Organization in HR Information Systems, and Best Organization in Diversity and Inclusion were among the awards the organization received.
The biennial HR Focus Awards, which were held at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra on the theme of “Global Changes: Preparing People and Culture for the Next Decade,” identify, recognize, and honor firms that have embraced a tradition of best practices in Human Resource Management.
The event also gives HR professionals a chance to network and celebrate their accomplishments. Francois Hardy, Regional Senior Vice President (RSVP) for Newmont Africa, said the awards demonstrate Newmont’s commitment to putting people first and at the center of its operations.
“These accolades reaffirm our commitment to creating an enabling and inclusive work environment for our brilliant and motivated workforce,” he said.
“The awards also recognize the covid-19’s unique ideas and activities that have kept them engaged and productive.” The various accolades, according to Awo Quaison-Sackey, Regional Vice President – Human Resources, will drive her team to continue seeking talent management excellence and improving the working experience.
“We are glad that these awards have externally recognized our efforts to improve the value of our personnel.” We will continue to work hard to provide our employees with chances for professional and personal development so that they can prosper and contribute meaningfully to our company and the industry at large.”
