For those who have been passengers on the 21st edition, the winner was declared months ago. The dramatic climax confirmed what many already suspected.

During the ABC special, the three finalists – Iam Tongi, Megan Danielle, and Colin Stough – got one last chance to wow the audience with solo and duet performances with the stars.
And, with millions of people watching at home, the stars did appear. Keith Urban, Kylie Minogue, Ellie Goulding, Lionel Richie, TLC, REO Speedwagon, Pitbull & Lil Jon, and others were among those featured on the screens.

Tongi and Danielle were chosen as the last two finalists by America. There could only be one, and his name was Tongi.
In recent months, the Hawaii high schooler with the lovely voice and terrible narrative had grabbed the hearts of Idol fans. Tongi’s legend expanded with each performance.
Tongi may now launch his career with a recording contract as part of the rewards for winning the yearly competition.
