“Economies all over the world are preparing for the fourth industrial revolution, and digital technology is at the heart of this preparation. As a result, governments and businesses must embrace digitalisation in order to remain competitive in this new era.

“As most of us are aware, Ghana’s government is keen on digitalizing all sectors of the economy, and as the government’s voice, it is critical for the Ministry’s staff and management to fully comprehend and appreciate digitalization while gaining insight into modern trends.

“As a result, we are delighted to collaborate with Huawei, a global leader in ICT, to host this workshop,” He said

He also stated that the workshop will assist the Ministry in leveraging Huawei’s global ICT expertise to improve the capacity of its workforce in building a long-term digitalisation strategy that will benefit the Ministry.

The workshop’s focus, according to Huawei’s Global Regional Representative Peter Goulding, who spoke to participants via zoom during the opening ceremony, is to equip participants while “showcasing the possibilities and values of digital government in improving service delivery and helping to extend the reach of government services to all citizens of Ghana.”

The workshop, he said, is part of a series of activities aimed at helping the government realize its vision of digitizing key sectors of the Ghanaian economy.
