In a video, the Okene local government administrator is shown chopping the dreadlocks of a young man who was forced to comply with the move.
According to reports, the young man was asked to sit while government employees trimmed his hair, and he proceeded to acquire a pair of scissors to cut his dreadlocked hair.
According to sources, the act of cutting youths’ hair is part of a local government attempt to eliminate such haircuts among the youth in the area.
Some Nigerians have reacted furiously to this, although the man whose dreadlocks were cut was alleged to have been coerced by the police before they took action.
