Moaning noises could be heard over Gary Lineker’s voice during the pregame buildup for a Wolves vs. Liverpool game.
Later, Lineker claimed in a tweet that the studio’s hidden mobile phone that had been “taped to the back of the set” was the source of the sexual noises.
“Well, we discovered this taped to the set’s back. As far as sabotage goes, it was quite entertaining,” the announcer wrote shortly after the game began.

The BBC apologized to any viewers who were hurt while watching the football game live this evening.
Lineker can be seen trying to maintain a straight face while looking momentarily startled by the prank in a video of the gaffe that is making the rounds online. Alan Shearer, a colleague, who is on the scene, receives a cut.

“I believe someone is sending something on someone’s phone. As the audio plays on, Lineker says to Shearer, “I don’t know if you heard it at home.
Later, on BBC Two’s Newsnight on Tuesday, Liener made an appearance. He described how at first he believed a video had been sent to one of the pundits’ phones.
However, he claimed that it was “too loud,” making it impossible for him to hear what anyone was saying in his ear.
Liener referred to it as a “good” practical joke and questioned the BBC’s apology.
“We’ve certainly got nothing to [be sorry] for,” he said.
