At the Connected Banking West Africa Summit 2022, the Bank of Ghana was awarded the “Best FinTech Policy of the Year” award in the Innovation and Excellence Awards category.

The award, which will be presented on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, is in recognition of the Bank of Ghana’s various policies that have fostered digital financial services, accelerated financial inclusion, and positioned Ghana as a preferred destination for FinTech business in the West African sub-region.

According to industry analysts and experts, Ghana’s FinTech ecosystem is poised to expand at a rapid pace with the formation of the Regulatory Sandbox, which will act as a regulatory-free area to foster new financial products and business models. The International Center for Strategic Alliances hosts the Connected Banking Summit, an annual FinTech industry flagship program for the African continent (ICSA).
The conference brings together financial sector leaders, FinTechs, policymakers, regulators, and technology service providers to discuss and exchange ideas on new FinTech trends and how to use technology to deliver accessible and safe financial services in Africa.
